Creating Valuable Content for Your Restaurant Blog

Websites with a blog have 434 percent more indexed pages than websites that don’t have one, according to research published on TechClient. A well-written restaurant blog can attract new visitors as well as increase the loyalty of the existing customer base. It also could contribute to your brand’s image and improve your restaurant’s reputation.

So how can you harness the power of a blog while still focusing on your core business?

Create a Strategy

A clear content strategy is a must for every business that wants to invest time and efforts into social media promotion. But it’s especially important for businesses that need to inform their clients about something – and restaurants are one of those businesses.

Therefore, invest time to create a strong content strategy. If you do want to make the most out of your restaurant’s blog, you should also invest time into social media promotion. While your blog might be filled with interesting high-quality content, this alone won’t be enough unless you share this content on social media.

So once you come up with a blogging strategy, be sure to create a social media one as well. It might not be as detailed as complex as a content one, especially if you’re just starting. Still, it’s necessary to know at least which social media will you use, how often will you post there, which marketing tools you’ll try to build up your audience, and so on. For example, you can decide on posting three times a week and running some contests on social media each month.

List Out Topics

You need to focus on two things: your food and your business. Here are some topics you might  consider:

  • Recipes
  • New menu items
  • News, announcements and events
  • Stories about food and your restaurant
  • Cooking tips
  • Job ads

Each restaurant is unique and it’s up to you to decide what you’re going to write about.

Have a Consistent Voice

Make sure your images and content are consistent in type and tone.  If you have two or more bloggers responsible for running your blog, ensure they adjust their writing styles. You want to present a clear voice for your brand and not confuse guests or potential ones.
